The Many Benefits of Massage Therapy

Simply put the unwinding, softening, and lengthening of the muscles will reduce physical discomfort and release blockages that hinder total body balance. The kicker is that this is just the start of the many benefits of massage therapy. In a great massage therapy session with a knowledgeable and experienced practitioner the stage for relaxation has been set and the receiver feels safe enough to completely be present to the moment. In many ways massage therapy is like meditation, a tuning into the here and now. In this aspect the nervous system can down regulate into rest and digest, opening our innate ability to heal.
